Rocker's Boots

I have loved rodeo all my life.  The men and women on horseback were always images that stayed with me.  As I transition into more figurative paintings, I am intrigued with painting anything having to do with rodeo and the western lifestyle.

During 2025, the rodeo circuit was intrigued by Rocker Steiner.  His long hair was flying, his red jacket and chaps gleaming under the lights as he won the world championship in bareback bronc riding.  

But what I loved most were the vintage style of his red and white boots that took me back to Saturdays at the theater watching western movies and the Houston Fatstock Show and Rodeo featuring Roy Rogers and Gene Autry.

I know, that really dates me, doesn't it?  Regardless, I am loving every brush stroke of this new chapter in my art and I hope you are as well.
