Like A Tree By Water

 

Inspiration can come from so many things - a memory, a photo, a sunset or sunrise, a favorite song.  This piece was inspired by a scripture discovered during a Bible study many years ago.  

Jeremiah 17:7,8  

At the time, I felt an overwhelming urge to create a piece that visually would describe the strength and resilience of that tree, strong and faithful through whatever adversity might come along.  I wanted to create a piece that would remind me of just that every time I looked at it.

I have painted similar pieces that are happily displayed in homes across the country.  Different but always with the strong tree planted by water, reminding us to be like that tree.
